My reputation is built on honesty, fair assessments, and matching horses with riders whose abilities and goals suit them. I know my horses—their personalities, strengths, and quirks—and take pride in creating successful, long-term partnerships. Much of my business comes from word-of-mouth referrals and repeat clients. As an active fox hunter, I ride with several MFHA recognized hunts and regularly compete at regional and national horse shows, earning wins across multiple disciplines. I believe in being honest and upfront. If I feel a horse isn't the right fit for your experience or goals, I'll tell you. My priority is finding the best possible match for both horse and rider. To make the process safe, efficient, and positive for everyone, I've established the following guidelines for viewing and trying my horses.
Getting Started: Our first step is a phone conversation to discuss what you're looking for and your budget. Whether your budget is $3,500 or $35,000, I will respect it. I won't show or discuss horses above your budget unless the consignor is willing to consider an offer within your price range.
Please have a clear idea of the height and size of horse you're looking for and what you're comfortable riding. I'll provide an accurate measurement to help determine whether the horse is a suitable fit. If you have a trainer or someone helping you with your purchase, I'd like to speak with them beforehand. Please ensure everyone involved in the decision-making process attends the appointment. If they cannot attend, we'll need to reschedule for a time when everyone is available. These steps help save time and ensure a safe, informed experience for everyone.
Please come prepared with a clear idea of your expectations, goals, and what you'd like to evaluate during your visit. I'm happy to answer any questions you have. Buying a horse is a major commitment, and I want you to feel informed and confident in your decision.
Appointment Fees: I charge a $50 appointment fee, payable via Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or PayPal. Payment must be received at least 24 hours before the appointment is scheduled. The fee is nonrefundable for cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or for no-shows. If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, I'll gladly reschedule without an additional fee. I understand that unforeseen circumstances happen and am happy to work with you when life gets in the way. This courtesy does not apply to no-shows without notice. The fee helps cover the time I spend preparing horses and conducting sales appointments.
If you'd like to try a horse off the farm within a 25-mile radius, I charge a nonrefundable $200 fee to cover my time and transportation costs. Payment must be received before the appointment is scheduled.
Pre-Purchase Examinations: I welcome pre-purchase examinations (PPEs) at my farm. If you don't have a preferred veterinarian, I'm happy to provide a list of local veterinarians for you to contact.
Sales and Deposits: All horses are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. I rarely accept deposits because I don't believe it's fair to other buyers who are coming to view and try horses, or to a consignor whose horse would be taken off the market while a potential buyer continues shopping. In the rare instance that I agree to accept a deposit, the deposit is nonrefundable.
Thank you for understanding and respecting these guidelines. My goal is to make the buying process straightforward, safe, and enjoyable while ensuring the best possible match for both horse and rider.
